Wombats are nocturnal so this old fellow is relaxing in the light of the moon. Hence the dark sky and the bright orb up on high.
I've never actually seen a wombat sitting like this but then I don't very often wander through the bush in the dark. But if I did I'm sure I'd see one.
A pretty easy intarsia. Make the wombat separately and glue her on the background.
